Trained as a visual artist, and a California native, Jeff received his Bachelor of Fine Arts with high distinction in Film/Video/Performance from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1995. In addition to working extensively in the Bay Area independent film community he gravitated toward sound design. Along with numerous film projects Jeff produced a series of highly textural soundscapes that have been featured in numerous galleries and venues, including a permanent exhibition at The San Jose Tech Museum and SIGGRAPH.

Since joining earwax in 1993 Jeff has been able to carve out a niche for himself as "the master of abstraction." It is a title he earned and is proud of, as it best describes his creative process. Jeff's objective when taking on a new project is to always make sure he hits an emotional chord with his audience and clients. This approach has resulted not only as inventive, but also expansive. His experiments with low-end rumblings lent a pensive beauty to the murky, ocean depths of the 1997 IMAX film WHALES, and also to the fairytale swamp for Goody, Silverstien & Partner's now classic "Budweiser Lizards" campaign. Some of his most recent work can be heard online with Wildbrain.com's Joe Paradise, and in the soon to be released Chris Rock film Osmosis Jones.

Aside from constantly altering his own voice for custom sound effects, Jeff has worked several times as voice over talent for MTV's SonicNet, as well as an assortment of commercials. Jeff is a certified instructor and has lectured at the Expression Center for New Media, and the California College of Arts and Crafts.
