Logitech Continuing a history of successful product branding and sound design, Earwax designed user interface sounds for Logitech's new "ClickSmart 510" digital PC camera. Earwax worked with Logitech's engineering and marketing departments to also create a "QuickSync" branding logo. This logo is a trademark sound to guide the software user and will be used for product marketing. NASA To make their space centers more accessible, NASA is creating interactive virtual web tours with the help of Earwax sound design and original music. Earwax integrated their rich sound library with real location sights and sounds to take the audience through every part of each of the 10 NASA centers. Earwax has a history of creating rich digital environments for such interact projects. The first of these tours, the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California, has just been completed. Macy's Earwax's advertising success charges on as well. For their first local TV commercial, Macy's of San Francisco called on Earwax for original music and sound design. The 30-second spot is to air starting December 5, and will advertise the retail giant's "One Canšt Wait" sales, the first of many such sales events. Joe Paradise and Sony Earwax's long-standing relationship with the award-winning online animated series, "Joe Paradise," has now evolved; Sony just bought the online series from WildBrain. The second season of Joe Paradise is now being featured on ScreenBlast.com, a Sony site. Joe Paradise heavily features Earwax sound design and production and was named Best Online Action/Adventure Series by the World Animation Celebration 2000. |

Pixar's Monsters, Inc Pixar's latest release, Monsters, Inc. is a fully animated film written by Andrew Stanton, writer of Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, and Finding Nemo. Monsters, Inc. is a comedy set in the realm of things that go bump in the night, where chaos breaks loose after a hapless monster accidentally lets a human child into the secret world. The film stars the voices of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, and Jennifer Tilly. The temp music for this projecf was cut by our own, Barney Jones. "Photos to Send" on a roll! Dierdre Lynch's Photos to Send continues its success, now being shown at the Cork Film Festival in Ireland. The film retraces the steps of famed photographer Dorthea Lange fifty years after a photo-essay shoot took her across the Irish Countryside. Lynch's film won First Prize at the Galway Film Festival in July, and heads onto the San Francisco International FIlm Festival in April 2002. Sound design and production is by Earwax, with score by fiddler Martin Hayes. The Good War And Those Who Refused to Fight It Quakers in Philadelphia are using the film "The Good War And Those Who Refused to Fight It" as a conversation starter with kids about conscientious objection to the current miltary action. The film documents the experiences of conscientious objectors during World War II, and features Earwax sound design and production. John-Hopkins University Barney Jones composed the score to an academic documentary for Johns-Hopkins University. This half-hour long film about the state of computer assisted surgery will be used for Hopkins conferences. Produced and directed by Lisa Moncure of Breathing Furniture Films. |

San Jose Museum of Modern Art Earwax sound is featured in the installation "Exposure" (by Marie Sester with the collaboration of David Lawrence) part of "Blind Vision: Video and the Limits of Perception," the museum's summer exhibition about modern urban development. This piece displays a series of X-rays of contraband images at major ports of call and a complex and subtle soundtrack of moot sounds, such as blue whale songs and downshifted drums. The sound design and Dolby 5.1 mix of this soundtrack was done by Earwax. The exhibition is open now and runs through October. Locations Earwax sound design and production is heard on NPR's "Locations," a series of 11 original radio plays written for specific locations, drawing upon the acoustical elements, action and voices of the characters recorded at the locations. The series is produced by BARD (Bay Area Radio Drama), a non-profit corporation for the production of radio drama. Earwax worked with Randy Thom, at Lucasfilm's Skywalker Sound and series producer Erik Bauersfeld. The program is airing now on NPR. |

Steven Spielberg's Starbright Foundation Earwax is providing sound effects, music composition, and dialogue editing for this video game about asthma, featuring such voices as Kelsey Grammar, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Glen Close, Jeff Goldblum, Gweneth Paltrow, General Norman Schwartzkopf, and Funkmaster Flex. The action/adventure game, developed by Steven Spielberg's charity foundation, teaches low-income and underprivileged children about asthma triggers. Pixar's "Finding Nemo" Congratulations, Nemo! The first full-length cut of this upcoming Pixar film has just been completed, a major milestone in the production process. Toward this goal, Barney recently spent about ten consecutive 12-hour days finishing editing temp music for the Pixar film, to be released in 2003. TechTV World Barney composed and produced a set of original musical themes for the cable channel TechTV's weekly, half-hour compilation of international computer industry news. The show is currenlty being aired internationally in more than 20 languages and features Barney's themes throughout the program. Travel Channel Andrew is contributing foley, sound design, and "ghost design" for an upcoming 6-episode series about famous ghosts in cities around the world. Photos to Send "Photos to Send" won first prize at the Galway Film Festival! Congratulations, Dierdre!! Jim, Barney, and Jeff provided various post production services including music consultation for fiddler Martin Hayes, mixing, and sound design. Deirdre Lynch's documentary retraces the steps Dorothea Lange's 1954 photo essay on citizens of Irish County Claire. Daddy and the Muscle Academy Jim and Jeff created soundscapes for several menus for this DVD documentary on artist Tom of Finland. The rich textures of these soundscapes punctuate the DVD version of Ilpo Pohjola's film. Routemaster Jim remixed and restructured the live sound for Ilpo Pohjola's film, Routemaster, to be put to DVD format. |

Joe Paradise: Season Two Jeff's sound design and production enlivens director Roque Ballesteros' online animation series, now available on WildBrain.com. Season One of Joe Paradise won the Best Online Action/Adventure Series given by World Animation Celebration 2000. The series has since been translated into many languages, including Hindi. Alameda County Waste Management Authority Jim, Jeff and Michael provided complete sound production (writing, talent, recording , sound design, and music composition) for the Alameda County Waste Management Authority's advertising campaign. This is the second year and second ad campaign that Earwax has worked on for ACWD with Producer Bruce Goddard. |

This animated feature film stars Bill Murray and is scheduled for a summer release. "Rocket Pants" and "Gone Bad" Featured in the Sundance Film Festival, these animated shorts were produced by Mondo Minishows.
