When Earwax was founded over fifteen years ago, public awareness of sound was limited. As technology has progressed, so has the appreciation for the power of sound to shape experience. With an original background in experimental Theater and Composition, Earwax has been at the forefront of this paradigm shift, always maintaing a balance between the artistic and the commercial--letting each aspect support the other).

Having mastered Radio, Television, Theme Park and Museum installations (Disneyland above) and films (Dracula right) Earwax has entered the pure digital realm. The Internet, CD-ROMs, DVDs, Digital Devices, and other virtual products all demand sound as a means of defining space, physicality, and response. The Apple OS Platinum Sound Set (left) was one of many of these types of projects.

We offer an extensive knowledge base as well as rich sound effects/design and original music composition. There are no button-pushers here. Some clients choose to have us at the very initial stages of a year-long production cyle. Others want a 30 second loop of crowd ambience by the afternoon. Both are typical jobs for us (this is the core of our business).
